Kashi Vishwanath Temple opens from 2:30 AM to 11:00 PM but there is a total stoppage of darshan from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. It would be best to arrive at the temple in the early afternoon on the first day, after the closing period but before the rush starts for the Ganga Aarti; visiting on a Monday or during Shravan month will result in long queues irrespective of the timings.
Mobile phones, cameras, and bags are not allowed in the sanctum at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and have to be left at the counter by the entrance prior to the security check. Please carry photo ID as you may need it at the Sugam Darshan gate and have only the essential items in your possession while traveling by boat and during aarti.
Shoulder and knee cover-ups are mandatory at the temple and comfortable footwear is recommended as you would have to take off your shoes while entering. From October to March, the mornings on the boat are cool enough for a light sweater; the sunset ride is comfortably warm while evenings at Dashashwamedh Ghat are comfortable for the aarti.
Inaccessibility due to uneven stones steps at ghats and some amount of walking around on the ghats in addition to the distance between boat, temple and Dashashwamedh Ghat during two days is expected. In the case of senior citizens, we pre-book seats on the boat and reduce the pace of walking on the ghat while using the Sugam Darshan facility to minimize the waiting time at the temple.
Darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple is free; however, a Sugam Darshan ticket costs ₹250 per person and is pre-booked on your behalf. All details in this package are confirmed to you in writing prior to your tour and no advance payment is required for reservation.

Founder & Pilgrimage Travel Expert
Uttar Pradesh, India
Amit Kumar Deshwal was born in Uttar Pradesh, and the pilgrimage circuit he now plans for a living is the one he grew up around. What began as showing visitors the temples he already knew has become a full travel operation — but the working knowledge underneath it is still first-hand.
More than 15,000 guests have travelled with him. Families, elderly parents, first-time visitors and large temple groups — enough of them, over enough years, that very little surprises him now. He knows which darshan queue is worth joining at seven in the morning, which one is not, and what to do when a temple changes its timings on a festival day without telling anyone.
His ground is Ayodhya and Varanasi, extending west into the Braj circuit of Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra. That range matters more than it sounds: it is the difference between handing a guest an itinerary and being able to say, from having stood there, how long the walk actually takes.
The reason Ayodhya Varanasi Guides exists is a frustration he heard from guests over and over — a different agent for the cab, another for the hotel, a third for the guide, and nobody accountable when a darshan slot fell through. His answer was to put all of it in one place, under one number, with the pricing written down before anyone travels.
Every itinerary on this site is planned or reviewed by Amit and his team, and corrected whenever conditions on the ground change.

It covers 2 days and 1 night in Varanasi with Kashi Vishwanath darshan, the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat and a sunrise boat ride, all guided in Italian. The route and pace match our standard Varanasi circuit, adjusted only in the language of explanation.
The temple opens at 2:30 AM and closes at 11:00 PM daily, with darshan pausing completely between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM. General darshan is free but queues can run 3 to 5 hours, while Sugam Darshan costs ₹250 per person and cuts the wait to 15 to 30 minutes.
The Ganga Aarti starts around 6:30 PM on day one, and we recommend arriving by 6:00 PM to get a proper ghat-side view. Arriving even thirty minutes late usually means watching from well behind the crowd, or not seeing much of the ceremony at all.
Yes, the boat ride at dawn on day two passes Manikarnika, the cremation ghat, where fires burn continuously. Commentary is kept brief and respectful, and it's normal for some travelers to find this stretch emotionally heavy rather than scenic.
The Italian speaking guide and local team book Sugam Darshan through the official temple portal in advance, so you don't need to register separately. This also avoids the common mistake of buying tickets from unofficial agents who often overcharge.
Hotels range from Budget to 5-Star, all located close to the ghats since the old city's narrow lanes limit vehicle access regardless of hotel rating. The Italian speaking guide accompanies the group through both days at every hotel category without additional charge.
Yes, it covers the two experiences most first-time visitors want most — the temple and the Ganga Aarti — plus a sunrise boat ride, without adding destinations like Sarnath that stretch the schedule. It works well as a focused introduction to the city.
October to March is the recommended window, with cooler mornings that make the 5:45 AM boat ride far more comfortable. Summer heat by afternoon can make the rest of the day tiring, though the core activities are timed around it.
Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is expected, and phones, cameras and leather items are not allowed inside the sanctum — these are deposited at a counter near the entrance. Security checks are strict given the temple's location beside the Gyanvapi Mosque complex.
Darshan pauses completely during the temple's aarti windows, including the 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM closure, so a late landing can push the temple visit closer to evening. The itinerary has some flexibility here since day two's boat ride is unaffected either way.
The temple queue and ghat walking can be demanding, though Sugam Darshan reduces standing time significantly and the boat ride itself is seated with minimal effort. The pace is kept relaxed across both days rather than packed into a single rushed itinerary.
Child pricing with an extra bed applies to children up to around 11 years sharing a room with two adults, with lower rates available without an extra bed on request. The Italian speaking guide's service is included in the per-person package price across all hotel categories, with no separate guide fee.
Two days covers the essentials — Kashi Vishwanath, Ganga Aarti and the sunrise boat ride — but it is a tight schedule, and there isn't time to add Sarnath within this itinerary. Travelers wanting a slower pace or additional sites should ask about the 3-day version of this package.
This 2-day package is built around the core Varanasi experience, but Sarnath and additional temples like Sankat Mochan or Durga Temple can be added on request. Travelers wanting a broader circuit should ask about our 3-day Varanasi Sarnath package instead.
Since day two ends with the sunrise boat ride and a loose morning, flights or trains departing Varanasi in the early afternoon fit this itinerary comfortably. Very early morning departures on day two are not advisable, since they would clash with the boat ride.
Essential Information
Refunds are calculated based on the cancellation date relative to your travel date, as per the slabs mentioned in our below. Once a refund is approved, the amount is processed back to your original payment method within 7 to 10 working days. Any non-refundable components, such as pre-booked Sugam Darshan tickets already confirmed with the temple trust, will be deducted before the refund is issued. We keep you informed in writing at every stage of the refund process.
Cancellations made 15 days or more before the travel date are free of charge, with a full refund minus any non-refundable bookings already made. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before travel attract a charge of 50% of the package cost. Cancellations made within 7 days of travel, or no-shows, are non-refundable, since hotel and guide arrangements are confirmed and paid for by then. Date changes, where possible, are handled separately and are often a simpler option than cancelling.
A booking is confirmed once we receive 25% of the total package cost as advance payment. On confirmation, you will receive a written booking voucher covering your hotel, guide and transport details, along with Sugam Darshan ticket confirmation once booked. All vouchers and tickets are shared over email and WhatsApp at least 2 to 3 days before your travel date.
We accept payment via bank transfer, UPI, credit or debit card, and major digital wallets. The advance amount confirms your booking, and the balance is payable before or on arrival, as agreed at the time of confirmation. GST is charged as applicable and will be clearly shown in your invoice. We never ask for full advance payment before sharing written confirmation of your booking.

Package Overview
The Varanasi Tour Package with Italian Speaking Guide starts from ₹8,999 per person and covers two days in Varanasi with a guide who explains every stop in Italian, not just a driver who happens to speak a few words. The package follows the same route we run daily for other language groups, adjusted only in the language of explanation, not the pace or the stops. Two days is enough to cover the temple, the boat ride and the aarti without rushing between them.
The signature experience is Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga darshan on day one, timed for the early afternoon after the temple's midday closure between 11 AM and 12:30 PM. We book Sugam Darshan in advance at ₹250 per person, which cuts a three to five hour queue down to under thirty minutes. That evening we walk to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti, arriving by 6 PM before the crowd builds along the steps.
Day two starts with a sunrise boat ride at 5:45 AM past Manikarnika Ghat, where cremation fires burn continuously, described plainly rather than dramatized. This suits Italian-speaking travellers who want the rituals explained accurately rather than simplified into English first and translated loosely. Best travelled between October and March, when mornings on the river are cool and afternoons stay comfortable for walking.

Travel Plan
After the lunch we start our tour, when planes or trains arrive and everyone checks in a hotel close to the ghats – I insist on it because the old city roads are too narrow for cars, besides it’s much faster to walk than to be stuck in a traffic jam. We arrive to the Kashi Vishwanath temple by the early afternoon, in order to take advantage of the time interval between 11 am till 12:30 pm when the temple is closed. I booked the Sugam Darshan before our arrival – 250 rupees per person – free entrance queue may last for three to five hours and nobody would like to spend such time at his first day in India. The guide tells us about the Jyotirlinga in Italian while we are waiting – usually it works much better than any written description. We walk to the Dashashwamedh ghat for Ganga Aarti – 5 minutes’ walk – we arrive to the place before 6 pm – even half an hour of delay gives us only a view from 15th rows. You have a dinner in a vicinity, you’ll stay in Varanasi.
We leave for the river at 5:45 am before the sun and the tourist vessels get there and drift along Manikarnika where burning ghats never stop burning and where I maintain my comments to be brief and informative and I will tell you directly that some travelers are affected negatively by this part of the route instead of being touched and this is absolutely natural feeling and nothing to feel ashamed about. We leave morning loose after breakfast because most flights leaving Varanasi do that in the early afternoon and there is no time for another halt. It is a little bit short period of two days and I explain to every tourist group openly that three days would give them a chance to see Sarnath as well but in case of an introductory tour to Varanasi this rhythm suits perfectly.

Pricing
Fees for Varanasi tour package with an Italian guide will depend on the class of the hotel you choose because the cost depends mainly on the accommodation, which accounts for most of the expenses in that one night tour. All classes are offered with the same itinerary but the difference is in the level of comfort and facilities offered in the hotel rooms. Prices listed are per person in double and single occupancy.
Hotel Category | Per Person (Double Sharing) | Per Person (Single) | Child (with bed) |
|---|---|---|---|
Budget | ₹8,999 | ₹12,499 | ₹6,999 |
Standard | ₹10,499 | ₹14,999 | ₹8,299 |
3-Star | ₹13,499 | ₹18,999 | ₹10,499 |
4-Star | ₹17,499 | ₹24,999 | ₹13,499 |
5-Star | ₹23,999 | ₹34,999 | ₹18,499 |
Single accommodation becomes expensive per individual as the room charge will not be shared by two individuals. Child charges with additional bed apply to children who are not more than 11 years old accompanied by two adults, while in the absence of additional bed, the price will be cheaper on request. The Italian speaking guide will accompany the tourists in all hotel classes without any extra cost.
