The opening hours of Kashi Vishwanath Temple are from 2:30 AM to 11:00 PM, but there is no darshan period between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM. As this tour is private, there won’t be a need for you to wait for the group in case you wish to visit during a Monday or in Shravan, because there would anyway be waiting in that period.
Phone, camera and all other baggage are strictly prohibited inside the sanctum of Kashi Vishwanath and have to be handed over to the counter near the entrance prior to the security check. You should have a photo ID with you, which might be asked during entry through the Sugam Darshan Gate. Please don’t carry much luggage along on the boat ride and during the aarti ceremony.
Should cover your shoulder and legs during the visit to the temple and should wear slip-on footwear as you would have to take off your footwear before entry. During October to March, mornings on your private boat will be cool for a jacket, especially on the ride at 5:45 AM, and evenings at the aarti place are always comfortable.
There would be some uneven stone steps at the ghats and you should expect some walking during the visit from the boat to the temple and to Dashashwamedh Ghat. As a private tourist, the pace will be more flexible than in case of a group visit. Seniors are given reserved seats on the boat and slow walking is assured for them. We arrange Sugam Darshan and thus reduce your waiting time at the temple.
General darshan at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is free of cost whereas the charge for Sugam Darshan is ₹250. This private package ensures confirmation of all the arrangements in advance by way of documentation. We don’t take any advance payment to ensure your booking.

Founder & Pilgrimage Travel Expert
Uttar Pradesh, India
Amit Kumar Deshwal was born in Uttar Pradesh, and the pilgrimage circuit he now plans for a living is the one he grew up around. What began as showing visitors the temples he already knew has become a full travel operation — but the working knowledge underneath it is still first-hand.
More than 15,000 guests have travelled with him. Families, elderly parents, first-time visitors and large temple groups — enough of them, over enough years, that very little surprises him now. He knows which darshan queue is worth joining at seven in the morning, which one is not, and what to do when a temple changes its timings on a festival day without telling anyone.
His ground is Ayodhya and Varanasi, extending west into the Braj circuit of Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra. That range matters more than it sounds: it is the difference between handing a guest an itinerary and being able to say, from having stood there, how long the walk actually takes.
The reason Ayodhya Varanasi Guides exists is a frustration he heard from guests over and over — a different agent for the cab, another for the hotel, a third for the guide, and nobody accountable when a darshan slot fell through. His answer was to put all of it in one place, under one number, with the pricing written down before anyone travels.
Every itinerary on this site is planned or reviewed by Amit and his team, and corrected whenever conditions on the ground change.

It covers 2 days and 1 night in Varanasi with a dedicated vehicle and guide reserved for one group only, including Kashi Vishwanath darshan, the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat and a sunrise boat ride. Timings are flexible around your group rather than fixed to a shared departure schedule.
On a private tour, the vehicle, boat and guide are reserved for your group only, so temple and boat timings can shift around your flight or your pace rather than a fixed group schedule. It also means the guide can slow down for questions instead of moving on to keep a larger group together.
The temple opens at 2:30 AM and closes at 11:00 PM daily, with darshan pausing completely between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM. General darshan is free but queues can run 3 to 5 hours, while Sugam Darshan costs ₹250 per person and cuts the wait to 15 to 30 minutes.
The Ganga Aarti starts around 6:30 PM on day one, and we recommend arriving by 6:00 PM to get a proper ghat-side view. Arriving even thirty minutes late usually means watching from well behind the crowd, or not seeing much of the ceremony at all.
Yes, the boat ride at dawn on day two passes Manikarnika, the cremation ghat, where fires burn continuously. Commentary is kept brief and respectful, and it's normal for some travelers to find this stretch emotionally heavy rather than scenic, private tour or not.
The boat is reserved for your group only, not shared with other travellers or tour groups. This also means the departure time can shift slightly if needed, rather than being fixed to a set slot.
The English speaking guide and local team book Sugam Darshan through the official temple portal in advance, so you don't need to register separately. This also avoids the common mistake of buying tickets from unofficial agents who often overcharge.
Hotels range from Budget to 5-Star, all located close to the ghats since the old city's narrow lanes limit vehicle access regardless of hotel rating. The English speaking guide accompanies your group privately through both days at every hotel category.
Since the vehicle, boat and guide are dedicated entirely to your group and not shared with other travellers, the per-person cost runs higher than a group departure. The trade-off is full control over timing and pace across both days.
October to March is the recommended window, with cooler mornings that make the 5:45 AM boat ride far more comfortable. Summer heat by afternoon can make the rest of the day tiring, though a private schedule allows more flexibility to adjust for it.
Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is expected, and phones, cameras and leather items are not allowed inside the sanctum — these are deposited at a counter near the entrance. Security checks are strict given the temple's location beside the Gyanvapi Mosque complex.
Since the tour is private, the temple visit can simply be shifted later in the day to work around your actual landing time, unlike a group tour with a fixed schedule. Darshan still pauses completely during the temple's aarti windows, including the 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM closure.
Being private, the pace can be adjusted specifically for the traveler, with more breaks and slower walking between the ghats and the temple than a group tour allows. Sugam Darshan reduces temple standing time significantly, and the boat ride itself is seated with minimal effort.
Child pricing with an extra bed applies to children up to around 11 years sharing a room with two adults, with lower rates available without an extra bed on request. The English speaking guide's service is included in the per-person package price across all hotel categories, with no separate guide fee.
This 2-day package is built around Kashi Vishwanath and the Ganga Aarti, but Sarnath and additional temples like Sankat Mochan or Durga Temple can be added on request, since the itinerary is flexible on a private tour. Travelers wanting a longer private circuit should mention this while confirming their booking.
Essential Information
Refunds are calculated based on the cancellation date relative to your travel date, as per the slabs mentioned in our below. Once a refund is approved, the amount is processed back to your original payment method within 7 to 10 working days. Any non-refundable components, such as pre-booked Sugam Darshan tickets already confirmed with the temple trust, will be deducted before the refund is issued. Since this is a private tour with a dedicated vehicle and guide, some arrangements confirmed close to the travel date may carry higher non-refundable charges.
Cancellations made 15 days or more before the travel date are free of charge, with a full refund minus any non-refundable bookings already made. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before travel attract a charge of 50% of the package cost. Cancellations made within 7 days of travel, or no-shows, are non-refundable, since the private vehicle, guide and hotel are reserved exclusively for your group by then. Date changes, where possible, are handled separately and are often a simpler option than cancelling.
A booking is confirmed once we receive 25% of the total package cost as advance payment. On confirmation, you will receive a written booking voucher covering your private hotel, guide and transport details, along with Sugam Darshan ticket confirmation once booked. All vouchers and tickets are shared over email and WhatsApp at least 2 to 3 days before your travel date.
We accept payment via bank transfer, UPI, credit or debit card, and major digital wallets. The advance amount confirms your private booking, and the balance is payable before or on arrival, as agreed at the time of confirmation. GST is charged as applicable and will be clearly shown in your invoice. We never ask for full advance payment before sharing written confirmation of your booking.

Package Overview
The Private Varanasi Tour Package with English Speaking Guide starts from ₹9,999 per person and covers two days in Varanasi with a dedicated vehicle and guide reserved for one group only. Unlike a shared-group tour, timings adjust around the travellers rather than a fixed departure schedule. This matters most at Kashi Vishwanath, where flexibility around the temple's queue can save hours.
The signature experience is Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga darshan on day one, timed for early afternoon once the temple's midday closure between 11 AM and 12:30 PM has passed. We book Sugam Darshan in advance at ₹250 per person, and a private group can adjust arrival time without waiting on other travellers. That evening we walk to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti, arriving by 6 PM to secure a proper view before the crowd builds.
Day two opens with a sunrise boat ride at 5:45 AM past Manikarnika Ghat, where cremation fires burn continuously, explained plainly and without drama. This suits English-speaking travellers who want a personal pace, direct conversation with the guide, and no group schedule to accommodate. Best travelled between October and March, when mornings on the river are cool and afternoons stay comfortable for walking.

Travel Plan
The tours begin as soon as you alight from your flight or train and proceed towards our accommodation that is conveniently near the ghats, since in the case of the old city area, the lanes are too narrow for any vehicle within the last leg of the journey. After the check-in, we proceed to Kashi Vishwanath Temple and as the tour is private, the time can be scheduled for when the temple closes its gates for one hour after noon, between 11 AM and 12:30 PM without waiting for anyone else. I arrange the tickets for Sugam Darshan beforehand for ₹250 per individual, because the free queue takes three to five hours of waiting and the private group would have lost a whole day for this. The guide gives us details of the history of the Jyotirlinga while walking at a convenient pace without rushing since there’s no group waiting behind. By six in the evening, we walk the five minutes to the Dashashwamedh Ghat for Ganga Aarti as we should reach there by 6 PM as half an hour late would mean watching from behind the crowd.
You are out at 5:45 AM, before the heat and before any tourist boat, in a boat that is meant only for you and your group and not shared by anyone else. We sail along the ghats at Manikarnika where the funeral pyres never stop burning – my comments tend to be brief and factual in this part of the tour, and frankly, the area does have an effect on many visitors, even though they are doing a private tour. After the meal, there is a lot of flexibility since you will leave according to your flight schedule and not as per group tours. Even two days are too little for a private tour, and I have stated the fact without hesitation, but three days would give us time to visit Sarnath.

Pricing
Pricing of the Private Varanasi Tour Package with an English-speaking Guide is based on hotel type, as the hotel is the largest component of the total cost during the entire one night. As it is a private tour, both the transport and guide services will be dedicated to one party exclusively, hence the prices are slightly higher compared to those of a group tour package regardless of hotel type. The difference between hotel types lies in comfort levels, as all the hotel types follow the same program.
Hotel Category | Per Person (Double Sharing) | Per Person (Single) | Child (with bed) |
|---|---|---|---|
Budget | ₹9,999 | ₹13,999 | ₹7,999 |
Standard | ₹11,999 | ₹16,999 | ₹9,499 |
3-Star | ₹14,999 | ₹21,499 | ₹11,499 |
4-Star | ₹19,999 | ₹28,999 | ₹14,999 |
5-Star | ₹26,999 | ₹38,999 | ₹19,999 |
The single cost would be higher than the double because it is not divided by two people and this difference is lower compared to the one during group tours as the car and the guide would be reserved no matter how big the group is. The child fare with additional bed would apply to kids aged from birth to 11 who would stay in the same room as two adults; if there is no bed for the child, the cost would be lower.
